Training at the Community level – BTSF Training

Training EC strategy is explained in the document “High Quality Training for Safer Food” COM(2006) 519 final and in the strategic document of the BTSF of July 2009.

The BTSF training, which since 2006 has been organised by the EC through DG SANGO – Directorate General for Health Consumer which is designed for the employees carrying out official controls of food and feed, animal health and welfare and phytosanitary care. It concerns employees from member states, third countries as well as from developing countries for their better knowledge of food standards and import procedures in EU and during placing good on the market.

Since 1st January 2014 DG SANCO has been cooperating with the Consumers, Health, Agriculture and Food Executive Agency (CHAFEA), which manages the training programmes of BTSF. Since 1st January 2015 is new abbreviation DG SANTE (DG Health and Safety) instead of DG SANCO.

Information flow in respect of the national training activities (mandatory topics of Chapter I Annexe II to Regulation (EC) No. 882/2004 of the European Parliament and of the Council) and Community training activities is ensured by Coordination body for training activities. The coordinator is the national contact point – NCP from the Food Safety Department of the MoA and members are local contact points from particular supervisory authorities and the Ministry of Health.

The number of training participants from the Czech Republic: 2006 – 20, 2007 – 36, 2008 – 41, 2009 – 43, 2010 – 73, 2011 – 96, 2012 – 112, 2013 – 136, 2014 – 168, 2015 – 169, 2016 – 140, 2017 – 131.

BTSF e-learning courses take place from February 2014 onwards.
So far there have been 10 e-courses in all:
